Decorate with rattan and other natural materials

Decorating with natural and sustainable alternatives has long been popular and it is a trend that is here to stay. We are more aware than ever of what we bring into our homes and many want to decorate with sustainable materials that last for a long time. Be inspired by our lamps in natural materials and their different origins.

    Contributes with a cozy feeling

Rattan and other natural materials contribute to a lovely and cozy feeling in your home and soften the impression in the room. It is easy to combine the materials with other interior styles, materials and colors and thus it is a grateful and sustainable alternative in your home. A lampshade in rattan contributes with beautiful play of light on your walls and furniture – which we think is incredibly homely and cozy.

    Our supplier

Our supplier and organization Arte Cebuana is committed to harvesting and producing sustainable materials that do not contribute to extinction or any negative impact on our planet. They ensure that families in the different countries can continue with their farming and handicrafts, and that they can work for a fair wage under healthy working conditions. Some of the proceeds from the total sales go back to the families and enable them to let their children go to school.

    • The natural material Rattan

The material Rattan comes from a palm tree that grows in the tropical parts of Africa, Asia and Australia and is made into furniture, lampshades, decorations and various types of building materials. The material grows in the same way as a vine and is an incredibly fast-growing and strong material. It wants protection from other trees in order to thrive as well as possible - which means that the trees are also protected from being cut down.
    • The natural material Raffia leaves

Raffia is a type of palm tree with soft and durable leaves and is easy to braid together into different products such as baskets, carpets and lampshades.
    • The natural material Lampakanay

Lampakanay (Typha Orientalis) is a renewable material that grows at low altitudes and wet shallow places in Mindanao in the southern Philippines. It is a durable material that is perfect for, among other things, braiding and is used for the manufacture of baskets, carpets, lampshades and bags. They are braided by hand by families who live on growing and harvesting the material.
    • Polyrattan

Polyrattan is actually a collective name for materials that are similar to the natural basket material. Often made of synthetic fiber or in colored PVC and is therefore very durable and weather resistant. The big advantage of polyrattan is that it is very durable and easy to care for, just to wipe off with warm water.
