LIGHTING

Proper lighting in the home is both practical and gives the home its character. Light affects how we feel, our mood and is much more important than many people think. Here are some tips on how to use your lamps in the best way for both well-being and function.

    GENERAL LIGHTING

General lighting spreads a soft light and gives you a good overview of the entire room. It’s nice to have a lamp that lights up the whole room, when you are going to do some cleaning, for example.

    MOOD LIGHTING

Mood lighting gives just as it sounds a softer and warmer feeling in a room. Feel free to use several smaller lamps that spread a diffused light in different places in the room. In addition to the pleasant light these lamps provide, it is also an opportunity to easily vary and add a personal touch to your interior.

    FUNCTIONAL LIGHTING

Functional lighting, also called spot lighting or work lighting, is concentrated light on a limited area that facilitates various chores or work, for example when cooking, sewing or reading.

    MIX OF LIGHTS

The room usually needs a mixture of both diffused and directed light to be both functional and pleasant. It is important to find a balance that works for the activities that are to take place in the room. Think about how you use the room and what it is used for. Many people do not have enough light sources in a room. A simple trick is to always add another when you think you have enough.
